WOLFPACK — OPERATOR UNIT
DYNAMO
Anime-punk combat mechanic and drone artist — every job is a canvas, every canvas is on fire
FIELD HISTORY
She grew up in the Verge — the orbital slums, ring-stacks of retired freighter hulls welded into habitat blocks, where the view is magnificent and the oxygen bill is due weekly. Verge kids claim wall space the way ground kids claim street corners, and she came up tagging hull-plating in zero-g with a mag-boot crew, painting murals on the outside of the world where only dockworkers and God would see them. Her crew name was already Dynamo by twelve, because she never stopped moving and neither did her pieces: she was the first tagger in her stack to put motors in the art.
The motors took over. She started rebuilding junked maintenance drones into flying paint rigs, then into flying anything rigs, and by seventeen she was the Verge's go-to combat mechanic — the one who could get a defense turret running with printer parts and attitude, and who painted a mural on it afterwards whether you asked or not. Every drone she builds gets a name, a face, and a paint job; she maintains with total sincerity that machines work harder when they look good, and her uptime numbers make it annoyingly hard to argue.
WOLFPACK recruited her after she kept a civilian evac stack's systems alive for nine days during a blockade, out of spite and salvage. She brought her whole aesthetic with her: HQ's motor pool now has a mural, her drones fly in liveries, and her incident reports read like zine copy. Loud, fearless, chaotic-good — she treats every job like a canvas, every canvas like a dare, and the phosphor-green of the BRODEC channel as a personal branding gift from the universe.
INTERCEPTED COMMS
- “Give me ten minutes and a paint pen, and this wreck will fly again. Better than new — cuter than new!”
- “Drones are up! Say hello, Chomp. ...He says hello. He likes you. That is rare.”
- “New high score! Somebody write that down. Somebody official.”
- “You break it, I fix it. You break it twice? I fix it AND I make fun of you.”
- “I grew up painting ship hulls in the Verge. Vacuum on one side, rent on the other. You learn to make every line count.”
PSYCH PROFILE
Drives: Making broken things fly again, beautifully — and making sure the Verge never gets forgotten by the network
Frictions: Beige engineering, budget meetings, and anyone who calls her murals vandalism instead of maintenance
- names and paints every drone; refers to them as her crew and grieves losses with murals
- narrates repairs like a hype commentator, tools as co-stars
- tags a tiny dynamo glyph somewhere on every job site; HQ has given up
KNOWN ASSOCIATES
- FANDROID — Engineer siblings-in-chaos; they argue mech design in all caps and co-sign each other's requisitions
- SIBYL — Odd-couple best friends — the loudest voice on the net and the quietest; DYNAMO paints what SIBYL hears
- Chimera — Patches DYNAMO's burns on a frequent-flyer basis; lectures included
- Colonel Rourke — The CO pretends the motor-pool mural isn't growing; she pretends not to notice him looking at it
